Above The Clouds....

Thanks to gogo inflight wifi I can still post from the sky on my way to L.A!  Right now we are over Colorado, however, these uber small seats & tight rows are making me wish I was back in the pumpkin patch visited this past weekend.  Check out this pic I grabbed after we found our 91 lb pumpkins.....I think Linus would be proud of this pumpkin patch!

Furniture Services

Tomorrow we are enlisting the help of FURNITURE SERVICES to disassemble our armoire & rebuild it on our second floor of the new house.  Because our house was built in 1913, the armoire assembled couldn't make it up the narrow staircase, so we have our fingers crossed the experts at Furniture Services can make magic happen.  Check them out for all your furniture emergencies (in the NY area!)

The Best way to spend a Fall Day

Fall is my most favorite time of year.....leaves changing, layering clothes/boots, hot apple cider...etc.  But one of the best ways to spend a Fall afternoon is by visiting your local orchard & picking veggies and fruits.  We recently visited our local orchard & had a great time picking peppers, peaches and eggplant.....love being outside during this time of year!  A great way to spend a yummy Saturday!

Proof Positive

I am a person of my word!  Yesterday's post was about the excitement over canning fruits & veggies and how easy it can be thanks to the people at BALL.  Last night, we gave it a try at my house & canned 4 jars of strawberry/balsamic jam + 2 jars of pickles.  So much fun & so easy at the same time.  Check out some pictures of our final products.......

Happy Post Labor Day everyone....the un-official end to Summer 2011.  In an effort to "preserve" that Summer feeling, I have decided to take up canning of fruits and veggies!  My first attempt will be fresh strawberry jam & homemade pickles....yum!  See below recipe book from the experts at Ball Jars who started it all.  Get canning & enjoy your summer favorites all winter long!
